OSCC 2014 Presentation: Virtual Laboratory Training, Career Recruitment and Retention (VLTC) Project
What an experience! I am still excited about sharing my 3D virtual world laboratory training, career awareness, and information-sharing project, “Virtual Laboratory Training, Career Recruitment and Retention (VLTC) Project” at the 2nd annual Opensimulator Community Conference on November 9, 2014. The Conference is “sold out” in-world.
The Virtual Laboratory Training, Career Recruitment and Retention (VLTC) Project emerged out of a medical laboratory professional’s vision to integrate real life clinical laboratory training; information sharing, and medical laboratory career recruitment into 3D virtual worlds. Since 2008, the planning, development, and implementation of the VLTC Project involved the construction of the Virtual Laboratory Training and Career Center in Kitely and the Ms. BugLady’s Micro Laboratory, a branch laboratory in JokaydiaGRID. In parallel to existing real life laboratory activities, the VLTC Project activities are focused on increasing basic laboratory knowledge and skills associated with the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and promoting various aspects of clinical laboratory science.
