Excited about upcoming 2nd Annual OpenSimulator Community Conference

Here, the 3D computer-generated rep assigned to the Kitely-based  project, Avatar Sally Cherry is busy assisting in the main virtual laboratory as we prepare for the upcoming conference. We are excited with the start of registration for the 2nd Annual OpenSimulator Community Conference 2014 (OSCC14). We will be sharing information and images pertaining to the Virtual Laboratory Training and Career Recruitment (VLTC) Project created within the 3D immersive virtual worlds of Kitely and JokaydiaGRID. Although the vision of a virtual-based training lab was launched within the now demolished Second Life business complex, the development and expansion of the project were most feasible within the OpenSimulator community.

As a speaker at the first OpenSimulator Community Conference in 2013, Avatar Sally Cherry assisted real life Sally S. Cherry, MT(ASCP) in delivering the presentation, Community HIV/AIDS Resource Exchange (CHARE) Project Goes Beyond: Capacity Building, Awareness, and Training through OpenSim Integration. The presentation featured CHARE Village, the virtual HIV/AIDS awareness component of CHARE Project. The 2nd Annual OpenSimulator Community Conference offers an excellent opportunity to share the vision and expansion of the virtual-based laboratory training and career recruitment  project. After experiencing OpenSimulator Community Conference 2013, another amazing virtual-based experience is anticipated… exciting discussions, exhibits, social events, global networking, and hypergrid tours. There are numerous multi-faceted projects and events being created and hosted on the open-source platform. The OpenSimulator Community Conference 2014 is the perfect event to learn about some of the OpenSimulator projects and activities created for various causes, professions and industries.

Load Testing for OSCC 2013

The tickets to the virtual-based conference are free but limited in number. Therefore, registration for in-world attendance is “first come, first serve”. The organizers are anticipating to accommodate over 350 “in-world” users. Once the maximum number of “in-world” conference tickets is reached, registration for the live streamed version of the conference will be available via UStream.

Kudos to the organizers, volunteers, speakers, supporters, and sponsors as they prepare for the 2nd Annual OpenSimulator Community Conference which is scheduled for November 8 – 9, 2014. OpenSimulator Community Conference 2014 will be held virtually on an OpenSimulator grid specifically designed as the conference venue. The conference is a joint production by AvaCon Inc and Overte Foundation.
